• Working as a reporting intern on the features desk

The Post: Reporter and editor (Nov. 2005-June 2009)

• Covered women’s issues, minority and international affairs and business as a stringer, staff writer and senior writer

• Was the Culture Staff  editor from  June of  2007 to  June of  2008: ran a staff of 15 writers, edited all culture stories, worked with designers and photographers to coordinate a weekly culture section and helped organize videos and photo slide shows for the Web site

The Sun News: Reporting intern (Nov. 2008- Jan 2009)

• Worked as an intern covering meetings and writing features for seven community newspapers

• Took photos and assisted other writers with reporting

The Chautauquan Daily:  Reporting Intern (June 2008 – Aug. 2008)

• Worked as a reporting intern and covered the School of Music beat  and the Young Readers Program, a book club for pre-teens
• Developed and maintained source relations with School of Music staff and students
• Wrote feature stories about the students and preview stories for events

• Had the highest quota on staff, 105 stories in 10 weeks

• Worked as an editorial intern: fact checked stories and wrote several assigned articles

The Muscular Dystrophy Association: Regional Public Affairs Coordinator (June 2007 -Aug. 2007)

• Held the position  of Regional  Public  Affairs  Coordinator for the Northeast Ohio Chapter of MDA
• Was responsible for all publicity and public relations for the Northeast Ohio Chapter
